Daniela Zapata from Colombia (pictured third from left), enrolled on the 2018-2019 edition of the Specialized Master's in Tunnels and Underground Structures, run by the ENTPE/INSA in Lyon, France, thanks to a scholarship granted by the ITACET Foundation. Here, she provides us with an update on her experience so far.

"In 2018, the ITACET Foundation granted me a scholarship to take the Specialized Master’s in Tunnelling and Underground Structures at ENTPE/INSA Lyon. This Master's is divided into two phases. The first semester comprises different modules on tunnel modelling, construction methods and other topics like security and risk analysis, and two studies about a real project in France. During the second semester, we must produce a “professional thesis” in a company.

On 8^th March 2019 I successfully finished the first semester of the Master. Last week I started my training at Terrasol/Setec, a major engineering group in France, conducting a study on a metro project in Paris.

My goal is to continue learning about this exciting world of tunnels!"
